This could be a bleeding ulcer, perforation of an organ, or any number of things. It is especially a concern since you just recently had surgery and could be a complication.
The only other thing that would cause that to happen might be if you recently went on iron pills which can cause black stools. Bleeding in the rectum wouldn't be black it would be red. JEAN
