Post operation care/defense of adhesions

Recently my wife had surgery to alleviate adhesions from a small bowel reconstruction surgery that took place 18 months ago (she has an Ostomy). She suffered from cronic abdominal pain from it and I was looking for information regarding health and fitness that could potentially help her from getting further adhesions. Her doctor did inform us of the inconsistency that people have with adhesions (some people get them; some don't) and that if they are going to return it will take place within 7 days after the surgery. Specifically I was looking at any form of medicine (natural pathic included) to help give my wife the best chance possible of not constantly being in and out of surgery to elleviate adhesions. We did have our physician use Seprifilm to create a temporary bearier during her first week of post operation healing and hopefully will give her a stronger initial defense against more adhesions.

Any information someone can provided would be greatly appreciated.
