I FOUND OUT THAT I HAD ADHESIONS FIRST IN 1998 WHEN I HAD AN ECTOPIC
PREGNANCY. THE ADHESIONS HAD PREVENTED THE EGG FROM EVEN ENTERING THE
FALLOPIAN TUBE. I AM NOT SURE BUT BELIEVE THE ADHESIONS BEGAN 1990
BECAUSE I HAD MY TUBES TIED AFTER I HAD MY THIRD BABY. ONCE I HAD MY
TUBES TIED I HAD PERIODS FOR 2 WEEKS EVERY 2 WEEKS. SO IN 1995 I
DECIDED TO HAVE MY TUBES REVERSED. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THE RIGHT TUBE
WAS TOO DAMAGED. I IMAGINE NOW IT WAS FROM ADHESIONS. SO WHEN I GOT
PREGNANT IN 1998 AND IT ENDED UP BEING THE ECTOPIC PREGNANCY, THEY HAD
TO GO IN BECAUSE I HAD FORMED A HEMORRHAGIC CYST ON THE LEFT OVARY THAT
WOULDN'T GO AWAY. THAT IS WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY DIAGNOSED WITH ADHESIONS.
FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, YOU CAN FORM ADHESIONS AT ANY TIME. A FRIEND OF
MINE WHO HAD NEVER HAD ANY SURGERIES HAD STARTED GETTING CYSTS ON HER
OVARIES. WHEN THEY FINALLY DECIDED TO GO IN TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON,
SHE ALREADY HAD ADHESIONS. THE DOCTOR TOLD HER THAT SHE COULD HAVE
GOTTEN THE ADHESIONS FROM AN INJURY.
I GUESS YOU HAVE READ THAT ADHESIONS DO NOT SHOW UP ON ANY TESTS. A FEW
DOCTORS THAT I HAVE BEEN TO HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN ACTUALLY FEEL
THEM WHEN THEY ARE PALPATING OR PUSHING ON MY STOMACH. ONE OF THE GYNS
WAS DOING AN INTRAVAGINAL ULTRASOUND ON ME IN DECEMBER AND SAID I HAD
ADHESIONS. I WAS WONDERING HOW IN THE WORLD HE COULD TELL THAT. SO I
ASKED HIM IF HE COULD SEE THEM. HE SAID NO, BUT HE COULD FEEL THEM WHEN
HE WAS PUSHING WITH THE PROBE TRYING TO GET A GOOD VIEW OF MY BLADDER.
I FEEL THINK YOU COULD VERY WELL HAVE ADHESIONS FROM WHAT YOU ARE
DESCRIBING. THERE ARE ALOT OF WONDERFUL LADIES HERE WHO ARE GREAT AT
HELPING TO EDUCATE US ON ADHESIONS AND ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT CAN GO
ALONG WITH THEM. tRY TO EDUCATE YOURSELF AND IT WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR
SEARCH FOR A DOCTOR. AND STAY CONNECTED TO THESE LADIES (AND MEN (?)).
THEY ARE A WONDERFUL SUPPORT.
I WISH I COULD HELP YOU IN YOUR SEARCH FOR A DOCTOR, BUT I AM IN HOUSTON
AND AM IN SEARCH MYSELF. YOU MIGHT COULD CALL SOME OF THE HOSPITALS AND
TALK TO THE NURSES WHO ARE ON THE WOMEN'S FLOOR. THEY USUALLY HEAR WHO
THE GOOD DOCTORS ARE AND MAYBE COULD HELP YOU IN YOUR SEARCH FOR A
DOCTOR WHO SPECIALIZES IN ADHESIONS. JUST A SUGGESTION.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! BIG HUGS,
