Dear Helen, You are most welcome for the info. Yes, I was 1000% relieved that the test was normal, as the gastro originally thought that my rectum could be tipped, due to the hyst. When I asked him how it was treated, he said it could only be corrected by surgery. You know my feelings on that. I had to travel about 18 miles for the test, as the receptionist in radiology didn't know what a Sitz Marker Study was. Some of the people where I had the test done didn't know what it was, or what the capsules look like, or where they were stored. Luckily, a tech came in and found the last capsule they had. So...anyone having the test done...don't be surprised if this happens to you. Millie.

Gi specialist. When being tested for a possible atonic colon, the patient swallows a capsule with radiographic rings - and abdominal x-rays are taken at certain intervals to see how long it takes for the radiographic rings to pass through the small and large intestine. regular MD. A GI doc would probably be more concerned about it as well. AT least mine was. Because of my history with obstructions, my doctors don't want me to go any longer than 3 days between bms. If you ever obstruct, it will become more of a concern as well. > >
