The omentum is the lining between the abdominal wall and your internal organs. I would imagine when they say you have omental adhesions that it means that your abdominal wall is adhering to your organs, at least this is how my doctor explained it to me. If you are in alot of pain, then you might try getting into pain management to help you with that pain. From what I have learned on this site is that the best adhesion barrier so far is SprayGel which is not yet FDA approved here in the US. SprayGel is used in Europe and Australia and will not be available here for about a year. That is what I am hearing anyway. There are some doctors in Scranton, Pennsylvania and also one in New York who are adhesion specialists and remove adhesions although they cannot use the SprayGel barrier yet. There is also a doctor in Germany who is doing adhesiolysis (removing adhesions) and using SprayGel. I have several friends from this site who have already been over there and are now completely adhesion free and pain free. My plan is to get over there as soon as I can come up with the money. If you would like more information, I would be more than happy to share with you what has already been shared with me. Really educate yourself and do not let just any doctor cut on you. I have been through 8 surgeries already and am in need of another. I want the next surgery to be my last. The people on this site are a wonderful support and will help educate you in this disease.
