Searching the IAS Archives

With a volume of messages residing in our archives (since 1999), the following may be helpful when you need to search for recent messages (last few months).

>From the main message board page, scroll to the search box located near
the bottom of the page. For this example; if you were looking for the most recent messages about Germany, you would:

1. type in keyword: Germany 2. select the months of April '03 and May '03 to narrow the search. You will then see the related posts.

Our server admin may be able to get the messages to rank in date order -- which would probably be much better for everyone as they are most likely interested in the most current information as compared to posts from years prior.

It is also possible to search messages by author, subject and date.

I do not know how difficult it may be to make this change as our message board. Our message board is run by obgyn.net (as they host the IAS website) and their server admin is the only who can make this type of change - if their system allows. There may be another alternative to insure posts are ranked correctly - we will let you know what we find out.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention that messages are not being found in the archives utilizing the standard search criteria - the Germany postings Karen referred to in earlier posts are there; but do not show near the top of the list.
