Annmarie,
I can't help you the meds questions, unfortunately. Many (most?)
doctors are not at all aware of the awful pain that adhesions cause, so
of course they will tell you there are many doctors who will take care
of your pain. You, on the other hand, have done some research, and you
have also read here about the intractable pain so many adhesion
sufferers deal with. You have read about so many women who have surgery
after surgery... and are in no better shape (and often much worse
shape) than when they started. So you can see how wrong this doctor is.
You, and the other ARD sufferers, and I just have to suck it up and
ignore these types of comments by "ignorant" doctors who seem to know no
better. Go with the trip to Dr. Gerhart; he is one of the top American
docs for adhesiolysis. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
Take care...

I have no history of abdom. surgery; have had a few cysts
Fall 2002- extreme pain and constant bloating
1/2/03- laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and D&C
2/12/03- TAH/BSO for adhesions caused by non-symptomatic
endometriosis (only dx'ed on pathology report)
Now?- rigid belly; abdominal pain, tenderness and
bloating; plus continuing bowel problems likely caused
by new adhesions
