Dear Katherine, Welcome to the adhesions board. I'm sorry you are having pain. The first advice I would give you is to read other people's stories on the quilt. Then research information by researching various words, then keep on researching and emailing other adhesions sufferers. You may be among the lucky people who can have an adhesion operation from a non-expert and get well. However, if your body is adhesion prone, having an operation may hurt you and cause more adhesions. Unfortunately, most American doctors do not know very much about adhesions. A lot of the "experts" will tell you adhesions do not cause pain. This is what most of them have learned in medical school. In addition, you need to avoid laporotomies, full open cuts. Laproscopic surgery uses small incisions and should be done only by doctors who have a lot of experience in this operation. Please write back and let us know how are you feeling. With kindest regards, Sally Grigg
