Dear Brenda, Your story sounds so similar to so many others. Doctors seem sometimes to only listen to themselves, and not the patient. What I would do is print out lots of relevant information from this board and from Helen's Dynda's related links on adhesions/pain, etc. Do your research. Go into the office with lots of info and have two copies, one for you to keep and one set for the doctor. When she seems to belittle you, raise your hand if you have to and interrupt and politely say, Excuse me, but it says here in this scientific etc that adhesions etc. etc. Hopefully it will help, or you may be booted out. In that case its not your loss because you don't really need an incompetent doctor. At the very least please don't let anyone operate on you who doesn't know what they are doing. Most doctors have never seen patients with severe adhesions. You are going to have to be your own advocate. If you can, take someone with you, ie. an older, mature adult who looks like they are smart (LOL)and perhaps will write about this experience in your local paper. Sorry, just kidding. Good luck. I hope all goes well with you. Sally Grigg
