Dear Deb, Yes it could very well be a consequence of adhesions. What you need to think about now is perhaps changing your diet ( look up the various diets in the archives) I try to stick to a low residue diet as that is right for me. What you really need to learn about are sings of bowel obstructions....I know the pain and it is almost unbearable. I am sorry this is happening to you. I do not see an IAS contact in N.J. but if you email Dr. Wiseman or Tracy ( the site administrator) they may be able to find a doctor near you who understands the plight of the ARD sufferer. In the mean time educate yourself as best you can on what it means to suffer from ARD....it is best when we are aware of all aspects of our disease and we can be our own advocates with our medical professionals. I'm no doctor, just a fellow sufferer like you but I hope you consider me a new friend.
