dear Debbie, I am jumping in on this post because I was in sever pain = for 3 yrs after my c-section, and had an exploratory, gall bladder removed finally a total abdoninal hyster. when I awaoke for surgury.. = the PAIN WAS GONE. I had a life for about 10 yrs before the small pulling and pinching started, and another 5 before bowel problems set = in, and another 5 before the pain reached the gall bladder area (squeezing my liver and colon. so in my case I did get some relief, but = I continued to "make" adhesions.. but I would have ended my own life if = they original pain would have not been found.

not meaning suicide, meaning being on pills to the point of not being = aware of anything!...living in lala land.

if you have your family, and no more coming along, it might help.. and = yes, more surguries create more adhesions!

my best to you.

liz: I notice that you mentioned that your hysterectomy ended your = pain. I've been told by drs that I need one. Also have sometimes severe rectal pain and lower back pain (possibly from drain scarring in = cul de sac during surgery). Many people advise me not to have hyster due = to more adhesions. You say it ended your pain. Did you already have = adhesions there? Did the hyster cause adhesions? How long ago was it? = I'm interested because I'm trying to make a decision. Was also considering just having the fibroids removed and keeping uterus but was = told fibroids will come back. Also told that uterus should come out when I get lysis so adhesions dont re adhere to uterus. In a total state of confusion and trying to make things right so i can possibly have a better quality of life. Any input anyone has re this would be so = appreciated. Thanks. I have always been active, and physical, and I am now pushing my limits on GOOD days, since sometimes it does seem to stretch the adhesions a bit. 3 times now, I believe I = have "ripped" the organs loose as I will have done something, felt a "pull" and them get a circlular brusing pattern on my stomach....but after the = shock and fear that I was going to die from internal hemorraging, I found = I didn;t have THAT paticular pain anymore. I don;t advise trying to rip the = adhesion loose...but I have some days of such frustration, I over do, and ooops! I feel a rip.
