i had hernia surgery in march and woke up with a gastric tube down my nose
and throat. it wasn't too bad the first day but the second day i felt like i
was choking and begged my doctor to take it out. he said i shouldn't be a
baby and actually grabbed the tubed and twisted it in my nose! i was still
crying when he left the room and the nurse couldn't believe he did that. i
asked her to take it out and she said she couldn't but that i could. she
said it wouldn't hurt so i did. i just gently pulled it out and it didn't
choke or anything. when the doctor came back in he never mentioned it. i was
a little nauseated but there was no way i was letting it be put in! i can't
stand anything in my mouth. always feel like i'm choking. hate dentists.
hope this helps
