I'VE UNDERGONE 9 OPERATIONS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS-THE LAST 2 WERE FOR HERNIAS-ALL THE OTHER OPERATIONS MADE MY ABDOMINAL WALL WEAK. THE FIRST HERNIA OPERATION WAS FAIRLY SIMPLY-JUST A SMALL CUT AND THEY DID A PLUG. A MONTH LATER I DEVELOPED ANOTHER HERNIA BUT I WAITED ALMOST 10 MONTHS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED-I HAD NO INSURANCE AND WAITED TILL IT GOT REAL BAD. MY LAST C.T. SCAN SHOWED 1, MAYBE 2 HERNIAS. THEY TRIED TO DO IT LAPROSCOPICALLY BUT THE ADHESIONS WERE TOO DENSE AND THEY OPENED ME UP-WHICH WAS A GOOD THING BECAUSE THEY FOUND SEVEN HERNIAS-4 INCARCERATED. IT TOOK 6 HOURS, MOST OF THAT WAS TO CUT THRU THE ADHESIONS. I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 5 DAYS , WENT HOME FOR 2, AND RETURNED WITH INCREDIBLE PAIN. THEY FOUND A "MASS" THAT HAD BLOCKED MY URETER. THEY PUT A UETERAL STENT IN FOR 6 WEEKS AND I WAS ON OXYCOTIN FOR A LONG TIME. THE PAIN CONTINUED AND THEY DID ANOTHER C.T. SCAN AND FOUND A ABNORMAL BUILDUP OF FLUID IN THE ABDOMINAL AREA, BUT THE SURGEON SAID THAT WAS NORMAL, HE PUT A LOT OF SALINE SOLUTION IN THERE TO KEEP NEW ADHESIONS FROM FORMING. MY UROLOGIST DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS NORMAL AND WANTED TO "ASPIRATE" THE FLUID. NOT KNOWING ANY BETTER I AGREED BUT WHEN THEY COULDN'T GET A I.V. GOING AND WANTED TO PUT A CENTRAL LINE IN I HYSTERICALLY SAID NO AND LEFT. I'VE SEEN THIS DONE AND ITS PAINFULL. ON MY CHECKUP THE SURGEON SAID IT WAS A GOOD THING I DIDN'T HAVE IT DONE BECAUSE IT CAN LEAD TO INFECTIONS HAVING IT ASPIRATED. BUT THE PAIN CONTINUED AND I HAD SEVERE THROWING UP AND NAUSEA. AND THE PAIN IS BACK IN NEW PLACES{NEW ADHESIONS}. MY STOMACH IS SWOLLEN AND I LOOK 5 MONTHS PREGNANT. I DON'T FEEL THE BULGE ASSOCIATED WITH HERNIAS BUT I FEEL THAT "RUMBLE" YOU GET WHEN YOU HAVE ONE. AND THE DEPRESSION IS SO TERRIBLE. I FILED FOR DISABILITY AND WAS TURNED DOWN AND AM IN THE APPEAL PROCESS. I LOST MY CAR AND HOME IN THE DIVORCE A YEAR AGO-HUSBAND COULDN'T HANDLE IT. MY SON AND I LIVE WITH MY SISTER AND I'M GOING CRAZY. I SIT HERE DAY AND NIGHT-SOMETIMES FEELING GOOD ENOUGH TO RIDE TO THE STORE. AND ON THE "GOOD " DAYS I HAVE NO CAR TO GET ANYWHERE AND EVEN IF I DID I HAVE NO MONEY. TONIGHT THE DEPRESSION IS BAD-BAD ENOUGH I'VE LOOKED UP PAINLESS SUICIDE ON THE INTERNET. DON'T THINK I COULD ACTUALLY GO THRU WITH IT BUT DAMN, THIS IS NO LIFE. SORRY IVE RATTLED ON SO. I KNOW THERES OTHERS OUT THERE THAT DEPRESSED, TOO, AND YOU AREN'T ALONE.
