Pain Specialist - Need infor

Hello all - here is a breakdown of my situation:
24 surgeries for ARD (4 Hernias, 3 Obstructions, the rest lysis of
adhesions) I recently moved to the San Antonio/Austin area and had to
get new doctors. My PCP (a very nice young doctor), said that he did
not have much experience with ARD, but he would assist me in anyway with
referrals as needed. He also wanted me to go to a pain specialist
(funny, I thought I already was).
The pain specialist told me the dreaded news that "adhesions don't cause
pain", he said that I was hurting because of all the times I have been
operated and its the abdominal muscle that is causing this pain. He
wants to inject "medicine" into the "trigger" point that he found today,
as well as several others.
Here is my question:
Has anyone had this "trigger" procedure done? Does any of this make
since to you all? Am I just skeptical because the pain specialist was
too quick to rule out adhesions? (sorry, wrong board for "head"
questions, lol).
Please let me know soon, as they are scheduling the procedure in the
next couple of days.
Hugs and Prayers,
Samantha
