Hi Samantha, Pain specialist are great. They will try all kinds of ways to help you relieve your pain. They may not be able to relieve all of your pain but if they do trigger point injections and it takes away some of your pain you have accomplished that much. I can't tell you it will work or not. Some people get relief form these kinds of procedures and others don't its a trial and error type thing. I have tried many different types of nerve blocks. I got relief for up to 3 days with some. Others I got no relief. But it is sort of like and individual thing. As far as the adhesion thing. If you have been tested and have no other disease maybe its adhesions. Maybe its not .Sometimes it is muscle spasms or nerve damage. But don't just say no I won't try it. If you try it and it works great if not then try something else. They are going to have to try something besides surgery to see if you can get help . Patience and understanding is a big deal. But if you try it and it doesn't work then you and your doc work together and then you can say well it is adhesions causing my pain . No one believes adhesions cause pain but it is what they are attached to that cause the pain. My adhesions are attached to all my intestines and as the food passes through it pulls and that is where the pain comes from. Hang in there It will all work out for your diagnosis. Take care and God Bless ya. Lillian
