I have a question about something similar. I had surgery in September, but it was a exploratory surgery, and I had just had one a month earlier for hernia repair, and a year before that for another hernia. I am now having really bad sharp pains in my rectum and I don't know whets going on. Can someone please tell me what it could be? It really hurts bad when I start my menstrual cycle, but on a regular basis it really hurts when I have a bowel movement. Can someone please see if they can explain to me what is going on? Dawn
