Can 1 Adhesion lead to more?

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. I'm 24 and I had my 3rd laporoscopy done last Thursday to
remove ovarian cysts and adhesions. I have some concern because I had
one very large adhesion which my doctor did not remove because he could
not do so through laporoscopy. He stated that he would need to make a
much larger incision to get this particular weblike adhesion out.
My question is....Can one adhesion cause others to develop? I worry as I
have this one still in my pelvis and I fear it will cause more to
develop.
