I believe that this is a wonderful website with wonderful, well-meaning
people. And these people are terrific as supporters of one another.
However, with only a few exceptions, we are not medical personnel and
definitely not specialists in issues of colon cancer and colostomy. If
the doctors don't know what's going on, my strongest recommendation
would be to PLEASE find another doctor; clearly, this would indicate
that it is NOT normal, right? Anyone here would be more than happy to
support you (and your father), but I don't feel that anyone other than a
G-I specialist should give advice. Good luck to you. Please let us
know how your dad is doing.
