I had a hysterectomy in Sept and just recently had a laparotomy to remove my left ovary. When the doctor opened me up she found massive adhesions. It was a surprise! I was scheduled for a laparoscopy and ended up with 3 incisions and a laparotomy. My doctor said she used gelfoam in my abdomen to try to help cut down on adhesions. Has anyone ever had this done? Does it help?
Also, since I don't have anything female left in my abdomen, who would do additional ahdesion surgery if needed? Could my gyn still do this?
