I had an appendectomy in 1990 through a laparoscope. Right after the
surgery I continued to have intemittent bouts of spasmodic cramping pain
that faded over 2 years. Since then I have had no pain until last week
when I had an episode of spasmodic cramping. On a CT-Scan there was a
narrowing of the bowel in two places. The doctor thinks it is either
Crohn's disease or adhesions. I have no other symptoms of Crohns which
leads me to believe that is could be from adhesions. How can a
definitive diagnosis be made for adhesions, is it a wastebasket
diagnosis if Crohns is not found? What is the likelihood that this is
from a surgery 14 years ago? I am a novice so any enlightenment would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ralph
