ralph,
doctors hate saying its adhesions, give it names like ulcerative colitis or
crohns - I have endured so many scans etc to no avail - adhesions dont show
up on them. thank heavens its not crohns, that is much worse than adhesions,
u would think if they can send guys to the moon etc they could help us poor
souls with adhesions after surgery,
try slippery elm powder for the bowel , helps with healing and keeps things
moving. vitamin C and go easy on alcohol, fatty foods not too much insoluble
fibre (cereals etc) but plenty of soluble, fruit and veg so the bowel
doesnt have too work too hard
Soluble fibre forms a viscous gel and disperses well in liquid. Examples
include oats, beans, and many types of fruit. Insoluble fibre does not
disperse in water and passes through the digestive
system largely intact. Some good sources of insoluble fibre include wheat
bran, whole-grain breads, and many types of vegetables.
Also try accupuncture, sometimes it is used to release adhesions. Its also
good for stress relief which most people have with chronic pain (especially
when unable to diagnose).
hope I have been some help,
Diana
