Yes. The pain clinic's are there to help you be able to control your pain depending on the severity of it. I am currently under the care of a pain specialist as well as my primary care doctor. It does help a great deal, but I don't recommend it for long term care, because it can become very addicting and that is one thing you need to avoid. I hope this helps. Dalene
