Jools,

You describe my adhesion pain exactly. When I had my hysterectomy in Januaary, 2003, I knew within three weeks that something wasn't right. I felt a pulling sensation to the left and odd burning, hot poker-like sensations throughout my abdomen. That was before I knew as much about adhesions as I know now and I proceeded six months later to have my gyn do a laparoscopic lysis of adhesions. It turned into an open incision because, just like your doctor described, my adhesions were "like concrete" adhering my colon to my abdominal wall. While I no longer feel that pulling sensation, I know they're back because I feel a burning, raw nerve type of feeling. I've done a lot of physical therapy and am currently going to a Rolfer (connective tissue massage therapist). These options are helping. I do not have plans for more surgery any time soon. Hope this helps.
