Hello, my name is Tamie. I am a 26 year old mother of 2. I just read
an article in my local paper yesterday about a newly discovered diorder
called ARD. WHen I read it I cried. I have been to so many specialist
lately I am going mad and no one can explain or help the pain. I was
diagnosed originally with severe endometriosis. I had several
laproscopes to remove the adhesions. My Dr. finally told me @ 25 that
he thought the only option was a partial hysterectomy. I hesitantly
agreed. One month later, the pain was back. I battled it for almost a
year with no real treatment other than pain medication and just "trying
to deal". Finally my Dr. told me that we had to go ahead and take what
was left (at 26) which was my ovaries and tubes. He said it would throw
me in menopause, but get rid of the pain. With each surgery though, the
scar tissue was more severe than the endometriosis.Again, I hesitantly
agreed. I was told however by the doctor this time that there was no
evidence of endometriosis, but my entire abdomin was covered in scar
tissue. This time, no time went by, I never really got better from the
surgery.
I went through several tests for a six week span trying to
discover what went wrong. The Dr. said, "Let's go in exploratory and
check things out". Again, this time against my husbands recommendation,
I went under again. I was told that this was the worst yet. Six weeks
after my last surgery, my entire abdominal cavity and part of my colon
was now covered in scar tissue. I asked the Dr. after the surgery if
it would get better. He said "I don't know but I can't operate on you
every six weeks." I started getting opinions from every Dr. out there,
surgeons GYN's, pain Dr's. Since the last surgery in April, I have had
epideral injections with physical therapy, just painful physical
therapy, changed my diet, and had scar tissue massage therapy.
All to no avail.
I live in Illinois, and have lost my job and insurance due to
whatever this is. No Dr. around here that I am aware of treats this
disorder. I need help finding someone who can treat me around here so
that I can get better, go back to work, and go back to being the wife
and mother that my family needs. Anyone who has any information can
contact me by e-mail. I am desperate to hear from anyone.
Sincere Thanks and God Bless
