I just returned home from a lengthy hospital stay of 10 days. As you may recall, I was going in for lysis of adhesions to remove a bowel obstruction and pelvic mass on oct. 20th. Well...after discovering 80% of my bowel was mangled, and they took 5 hours to clean it all up...the next day I was back in surgery for a perforated bowel, with a fully open lapaotomy!! The only good part is the mass was benign.
I am in extreme pain all the time, and can barely eat or drink without developing more pains. My lung partially collapsed after the second surgery, but I am doing much better with that now.
It was a nightmare! Now they tell me the layers of my intestine are so thin it's like they fall apart as soon as they are touched. I proabably won't be able to stay away from an O.R. very long...but I am praying things hold off as long as possible without further perforations.
I can really use more prayers!!
