Dear Cindy,
I had a hysterectomy with both ovaries removed
and immediately was put on HRT. Eighteen years
later my sister contracted breast cancer so all
her sisters were advised to stop taking HRT.
Within a month I developed severe hot flashes with
terrible sweats twice an hour! I'd become dripping
wet and then I'd get chilled. This went on all
day long. I seemed to develop one cold after another!
Within 4-6 months I noticed my skin started showing
premature aging. Then a bone density test showed my
bones had suddenly gone from strong, to showing osteopenia
(a step above osteoporosis). I have returned to taking
a low dosage of HRT and feel much, much better.
The point being, if you have had both ovaries removed,
and you're feeling miserable on HRT, think how much
worse you'd be without it!
Perhaps your doctor can give you a different brand??
