adhesions

Hi:
I have had five surgeries to cut down my adhesions.
My last surgery was October of 2003. Since this
time my adhesions have returned and I am living in
constant pain. I am 32 years old and have been
suffering for over 4 years now. I have a husband
(a few years older than I) who is looking after me
and my 3 children(6,8,10). I am nearing the end of
my rope with this pain. I live in Canada and no
doctor here has any idea how to treat this pesky
problem.
I have visited two other surgeons who refuse to
touch me. I can travel to Scranton, Pennsylvania
to see doctor Gerhart(specialist in adhesions)
but this is at my own expense. I can't work or
drive any more as my doctor has me on 90mg of
oxycontin per day for pain. I also take
amatriptoline and efexor as they think I am
depressed. I am not but will be soon if
something can't be done.
My family doctor wants me to enroll in a pain
management clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital in
Toronto. How can a pain management clinic help
when all this oxycontin doesn't help? Please,
someone out there in cyber space, help if you can.
Thanks
Kiersten
