Christine,

I've been living with Endometriosis for over 20 years. I've done a lot of research over the course of those 20 years as well as met countless other women with the disease. The answer to your question about the possibility of Endometriosis recurring after removal of the uterus and ovaries is absolutely, most assuredly it can and does.

There is no cure for Endometriosis, not even hysterectomy is a cure. If all Endometriosis is not removed at the time of hysterectomy and oopherectomy, pain will often continue or resume at some later date.

Recurrence of Endometriosis following hysterectomy is actually rather common. It's a myth that hysterectomy cures endo.

I'm so sorry you're going through all this right now. With a history of Endometriosis I'd be suspicious that it is indeed endo causing your bowel symptoms as well as causing or contributing to adhesion formation.

Good luck!
