Hi Maureen,
The decision to have surgery is a very personal
one. Its difficult for anyone to advocate for
or against a surgery unless it is their own body.
If your are in tremendous pain and your Dr.
thinks he/she can operate safely on you (i.e.
can still see all of the surgical landmarks and
not cause any greater damage) then you should
probably consider it. If the adhesions are blocking
off the areas like the bellybutton or other
areas where the tools in a laparoscopy go in
then surgery (at least laparoscope) is probably
not the best answer. I have had multiple
surgeries and am not really a candidate any
longer, because surgeons can no longer clearly
see the way in.
I wish you the best in this decision and I'll
keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
