Pelvic congestion is varicose veins in the pelvis, usually on the uterus, ovaries or tubes. It can be incredibly painful.

I'm curious...have you ever considered that your period pain could be from endometriosis? Your symptoms fit. You might want to do a little reading about endo and see if your history fits the symptoms, then have a discussion with your doctor about it.
