Endo can be present even in the absence of a uterus, ovaries or estrogen replacement. Hysterectomy is not a cure for endometriosis. Unfortunately there is no cure.

Endometriosis implants procude their own estrogen so even if you're not on estrogen replacement therapy you likely still have a circulating blood level of estrogen. For that matter, our body fat produces estrogen.

Any endo left behind at surgery can and often does cause further problems with pain. My suggestion to you would be to have surgery with one of the well known endo specialists to finally have all endo removed via surgery. Until that's done you will likely continue to have pain.

I have lived with endometriosis for 20 years and endured my share of surgeries. It wasn't until I had surgery with a genuine endo specialist that I got significant relief from my pain and the adhesions that often go hand in hand with endo.

Hang in there!
