I started having problems with adhesions about 9
years ago, after the birth of my 3 child. I
started having swelling in my abdomen, couldn't
stand any pressure at all, severe pain. I went
to my Gyn and he suggested that we do an exploratory
surgery, which we did.
Got in there and ended up having to have a partial
hyst. Well 6 months after that I had to go back
under and have adhesions removed, yet again another
6 months after that another surgery. Then about 7
months after that here we go again, except this
time I requested being sent to a specialist, which
I was to make a long story short, I ended up having
another surgery to remove both of my ovaries, the
dr told me that I had severe endo, fibroid tumors,
my ovaries were full of cysts, and that all my
insides were attached to the lining of my stomach
wall with adhesions. Well for about 4-5 years now
I have been doing good, until about August of 05.
The pain has started again, along with the swelling,
the constipation, and discomfort of clothing and
anything touching my abdomen. I called my Dr(the
specialist) went to see him this week. He wants
to try PT and muscle relaxers. He did some kind of
test on my bladder well that was what was wrong,
Now I am taking muscle relaxers both morning and
at night, and they aren't making the pain stop!!
I don't go back to see until January 06. I don't
know if I can handle the pain until then. Has
anyone else out there had to go thru PT for this?
If so I would like to know if it seemed to help
or not? My Dr is having me drive 1 hour and half
for me to go to PT. I would love to find someone
to talk to that is going thru what I am going thru.
It hurts so much at times that it is hard to
function and do the normal of daily living. My doctor
told that he thought that since the pain go worse
when I was up doing that it could be muscle spasm,
er go the muscle relaxers. Well I have been on
them a week now and the pain is still unbearable.
Anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks,
Brandi
