I've spent the last 3 months and a lot of money going in cirles, or so
it feels.
I had surgery for a bowel obstruction (that wasn't one)when I was only 6
weeks old. (30 years ago.)I have a nasty, huge scar that has gotten
deeper with age.
I haven't had problems for most of my life, except for digesting certain
foods, until a few months ago. I've been diagnosed with a lot of things
including adhesions but they "aren't what we consider severe, so they
shouldn't be causing this pain".
The pain is intermittent (thank goodness...I feel for the people who
have chronic pain) and I've had every test done because it CAN'T be the
adhesions! Xray, CT scan, ultrasound, colonoscopy, endoscopy, blood
tests, small bowel follow-through with contrast, etc.
My primary doctor believes that this pain could be from adhesions....the
surgeon (who's sent me away twice now, the first time saying it was just
constipation; the second sending me to a gastroenterologist) keeps
testing me for other things.
Should I see a different surgeon? Should I just push him to do the
surgery?
