Can adhesions hinder ovulation?

I had an ectopic pregnancy in August. It was located either on the Fallopian Tube or on my right ovary. Since the pregnancy, I have had pain on and off on the right side and have only ovulated once. I've had an HSG that came back normal. My OBGYN is pretty sure the pain is due to adhesions left on the tube or on the ovary after the pregnancy, but she says that the adhesions shouldn't have anything to do with me not ovulating. Before my pregnancy, my cycle was perfectly regular, so not ovulating is not normal for me. I'm wondering if my doctor is right in saying that the adhesions can't hinder ovulation. Thanks.
