Can adhesions cause ulcers?

Does anyone know if adhesions can get so bound up around the stomach or bile ducts or whatever, that they can cause things to "back up" and possibly cause stomach or duodenal ulcers?

I'm asking because I am having a hell of a time with ulcers right now. (Or at least the E.R. doctor believes that is part of what is going on right now.) Whatever it is, it is brutally painful! It was this bad about 4 weeks ago and tapered off a bit after about 5 days. Belching, bloating, nausea and feeling like something is "eating" my stomach from the inside.
