Computed Tomographic Enterography

I had tried to post a link about this the other day but I guess my post didn't get through.

Anyway, it was on the ibsgroup.org forum under 'diagnostic tests'. The title of the post was 'Pill cam anyone?'

The poster said her doctor wanted her to do the pill cam, but because she 'might' have adhesions from previous surgeries, the doctor wanted to rule out adhesions first. If she had adhesions, she could not do the pill cam.

She said the test was CT enterography, or CMPT tomograph abdominal w/contrast. She gave the insurance codes off of her bill- they were-

72191- ct angiograph pelvis w and w/o dye

74175- abdominal ct angio w and w/o contrast

She had it done at Boston Medical Center. She said the results were negative and she had the pill cam done, which was negative as well.

I have had CT scans and an MRI and the interpreting physician said that adhesions and/or the diffuse form of endometriosis were a 'possible' cause of my issues but that these scans would not show them.

Anyone heard of these? I am very interested to know about these scans.

Anyone heard of these? I have never come across them in my research on adhesions.
