There are people on this site who may be able to refer you to other doctors. Some people have had successful surgery with Dr. Semertizides, Cincinnati, Ohio. The hospitals where the doctors practice have services that can help locate a place to stay. I was fortunate enough to stay at a McDonald House. I really have a lot of empathy for you and everyone on this site who is experiencing pain as a result of surgeries that have left you with adhesions that are entrapping or pressing against nerves and/or vital organs. Hi, everybody that is going through this nasty pain. I have been dealing with real bad pain since 1988. I always had severe pain with my menstal cycle which started at age 14. I delivered 4 children. By my 4th baby my uterus collapsed. and I was in severe pain. I was told that I could never carry another baby again. I was repeatly getting cyst on my ovaries that would burst. The doctor would tell me to go home and stay off my feet and the fluid will go away on its own. Of course that was not the case for me. The poison from the cyst spread and I ended up having to get my apendixs out.My stomach would swell up so bad. I had a cyst the size of a baseball on my right ovary that burst which caused a hole in it . I blood so bad . I had to have my ovary removed. I went from doctor to doctor. I was in and out of the ERs so much. My husband and children was so sick and tired of me being sick. Nobody really new want I was going through and they still dont .In 1995 I finally found a good doctor. GYN Dr. Lokey in Phila. She checked me out and took my health history. She said I pretty sure I know what is wrong with you but I have to cut your abdomen in order to see if you have endometrosis. So she did a scope on me and sure enough my whole abdomen was covered with endo. When she came in to see me after the operation she said she got all the endo except that it grew into my bowel and that was not her department. Not much sooner after all that I had obstruction of the bowel. Back into the operation room I went. I had about 17 operations since then. Several times I had adhesions removed that covered my entire abdomen. I am still suffering with adhesions wrapping around my bowel. Some pain meds do not work for me anymore or I have to double up on what they give me. I am looking for a doctor who will help me and not give up on me. I cant afford to travel any where. I am so tired of being in pain and not getting the right amount of sleep! I cant even hold a job because of all of this. I am tired of doctors saying that it is all in my head cause they cant see anything on the exrays. I wish they would do more research on adhesions.If anyone that has any info they can give me that might help please do so. Thanks (Sorry for my spelling) Joan
