I have had a colectomy about 2 yearts ago.  The very same problem that you are having.  My surgeon was able to remove the large intestine and attach the small intestine to my rectum.  I am sorry to say that the colonic enertia (constipation) has returned, even with a small intestine.  I suffer with adhesion pain on a daily basis.  My Gastro Dr. has me on Amitiza as well as an enzyme daily.  It is a daily battle!!! I hope you will have more success than I have had.  God Bless you and please write back with any questions. I am waiting to hear from a Dr. at Duke University for continued help.
