Hello. I posted a message to this forum back on October 25th, 2006 and I wanted to update you on how well I have been doing in managing my abdominal adhesions without the means of drugs and additional surgeries in the hopes that I can help some of you who are looking for alternative methods in managing adhesion pain and suffering. My last surgery was in 2004 and it was then that I said "ENOUGH!" on the surgeries and pain meds and decided to look for alternative methods to help me manage my adhesion issues. Here it is seven years later and I have not had to have any additional surgeries nor do I take any medications and I still remain pain-free and active and am doing the things I love to do and loving life. You see, I found a treatment called Myofascial Release Therapy that has been a god send for me. It has helped me remain pain-free and best of all surgery free for these past seven years. Many Physical Therapists and Licensed Massage Therapists are becoming trained in Myofascial Release so it has become much easier to find a therapist who is trained in this method and can help you in becoming pain free and more mobile and many primary doctors can refer a patient to a Physical Therapist for treatment in MRT. Myofasial Release Therapy is a series of stretches and massage techniques that help loosen and break up adhesions. For me it has been like a miracle and even my primary doctor is impressed at how well it has helped me and has started referring some of his other surgical patients to PT's for treatment. I have read so many posts on this forum of so many people that are dependent on pain drugs for relief and keep having surgery after surgery which just causes more adhesions to build up and I wanted to share my story in the hopes that it may help some of you who are looking for alternative treatments to help manage your adhesions. There is life after adhesions and you do not have to suffer. I hope this message gives you hope and my wish is for everyone who suffers from the pain and complications of adhesions to find relief and live a long, happy pain-free life.
