The prickly, burning, skin crawling sensations you are feeling sounds more like nerve pain/damage in that area. If you are having trouble with your skin touching anything in that area - that could very well be your problem.
Now the question is - are the nerves entrapped in the adhesions - thus causing the pain. I have asked many of my surgeons/pain clinic docs/obgyn/family doc this question and have gotten different answers from each one of them - I have found out that medications like neurontin and/or elavil will help with the abnormal sensations of the skin.
Maybe someday we will have more answers than we do questions.
