Hi Toni:
Of course I will still talk to you! I'm sorry to hear that you are doing
so lousy, what you describe does not sound good at all. It's also not
fun thinking about your bowels all the time.
The colo-rectal guy is not going to do anything for me! He doesn't think
the adhesions are causing my pain and I can't say that I blame him
thinking that because I said the same thing to him! I really don't think
they are doing it. I'm beginning to wonder if they ever were the
problem. The pain now goes through to my back (still only on the right
side) and out to the right hip and when he heard that he then told me
about his wife who had the exact same symptoms and similar long, sad
story. (doctor to doctor to doctor and her husband was a doctor.
There's no hope for us if he couldn't get her problems solved) It turned
out in her case she had an inflammation of her sacraliliac joint (where
your hip bone joins the sacral area of your spine in the back) This can
refer pain to the front. So he is recommending I see a rheumatologist
and get a bone scan. I can't explain the gi symptoms. (neither could
he) Maybe I have two problems and if I get rid of one the other one will
be easier to either solve or deal with. Anyway, he didn't think there
was any problem with the colon being in an odd location. He said that
he sees colons that look like they are tied in knots. Of course, he
could be wrong.
I see my pcp on Monday and I will see what he suggests. I really don't
want to go to another doctor but I do want the bone scan or something
else that will investigate the spine.
