Pain Clinic

Last Friday I went to the pain clinic for the first time. Mainly they want to prescribe narcotics. I said no, I can't do that, not when I have small kids around. They tried acupuncture which didn't help at all. They said it should be immediate relief if it was going to work. So next week they are going to try some sort of pain relief injection-sort of like a long lasting novacaine shot-into the area of pain.

The post about pain being where the fixation is was interesting. I'm printing it out to give to my surgeon. I know from my op reports, the pain has always been where there was fixation. My WBC is always up when I'm in acute pain too. So I usually wind up on antibiotics for 'infection'. Now I'm wondering if it isn't just inflammation. The Dr. at the pain management clinic gave me a prescription for Daypro. I haven't gotten it filled, but I will now to see if that helps. Daypro has helped my neck pain in the past, so maybe it will help with this too.
