Chris--I have to give a two-fold answer to your question about whether
or not pain mapping worked. Technically, yes...it worked. The doc
found the exact spot that was giving me the most problem and cleaned up
those adhesions. So, as one who likes gizzmos, gadgets, new
procedures...yeah...I would say it worked technically. The correct pain
spot was identified and treated. As soon as I was awake...I was
overjoyed...because even though there was pain with the incisions was
present...THE pain...that is, THE pain that you all know....was
gone...completely. And I reveled in that for about four weeks.
THEN
You have guessed the rest of the story. The adhesions replaced
themselves with new ones and THE pain returned. Interestingly, it's the
same pain but in a slightly different location.
Am I sorry I did it? No.
