Live Chat Help

Q1. I CAN'T FIND THE CHATROOM!

A. It's there .. be patient. See the menu on the left? It says beach club chat. Just click on that and you will be taken to the log in page.

Q2. DO I HAVE TO LOG IN?

A. Yes, this is necessary for you to be able to chat with us.

Q3. I don't want to use my real name

A. That's ok, just put in a nickname.

Q4. WHEN I GET TO THE LOG IN PAGE IT ASKS FOR A NICKNAME, EMAIL ADDRESS AND ROOM .. WHAT DO I DO?

A. Just type in your name or nickname and click on the connect button just underneath the log in areA. You don't need to put in anything else. The Room should say -- #IAS

Q5. IT SAYS MY NICKNAME IS ALREADY REGISTERED.

A. That means somebody else is using that name. Try using a different name or different numbers after your name. If you are going to regularly chat in the chat room you can register your name (as long as it hasn't been used by somebody else)

Q6. HOW DO I REGISTER MY NAME?

A. When you finally log into the chat room, in the area where you type to 'talk' type in the following: /ns register password email
This is YOUR password and YOUR email. Please ensure you do use a real email, otherwise your registration will be rejected. Then hit enter (on your keyboard) this should come up with an agreement on registration. If you want to check, log out of the chat room (simply click another link on the left hand side menu) and then come back in. Type in your nickname and another window will pop up asking for your password. Make sure you type it in EXACTLY. If you fail to log in correctly, your name will revert back to Guest6786 (example). Please then ask the moderator for assistance in logging in correctly. If you miss the 'window of opportunity' (60 seconds) to log in, you can type:

/ns identify nickname password
(That is, YOUR registered nickname and YOUR password)

Q7. IS THE CHAT ROOM SECURE?

A. The chatroom is PRIVATE and has not been put on any listings. However, that is not to say somebody exploring may not pop in. It will be highly unusual, but it MIGHT happen. Rest assured that people who explore are simply exploring. The worst thing that can happen is they could say some offensive words, which if they do, the moderator will ask the individual to leave and block them from the chat room. We do ask that you exercise caution by not providing personal information – such as home/work telephone numbers, street addresses, etc.
