Re: Pain meds for adhesions?

Hi Rachel, I have endured adhesions for over 10 years. I was also
diagnosed with fibromyalgia and spina bifida occulta. I have been to 2
pain clinics but find that my primary care physician to be as
knowledgeable about my chronic pain. I feel that is the first step, to
have a doctor or surgeon that is well informed about your situation and
compassionate to your needs. I have tried many different pain meds.
What has worked best for me is hydrocodone for pain and elavil for
sleep. I take flexeril which is a muscle relaxer when needed. The only
problem is I have intestinal adhesions and frequent bowel obstructions
so I have to keep my bowels moving. Pain meds are constipating. You
and your doctor will have to experiment to find out what works best for
you. Good luck! Sherry Marie
