Ooops missed this part. When you have pain and take narcotics you do not become addicted. The narcotic goes to work on the pain receptors. It's only those who have no pain and take narcotics (for the buzz) who become addicted. Dependency is a different matter. I have come to grips with the fact that I will be dependent on pain killers for the rest of my life or until this illness goes into remission. I don't like it . . . but there it is.

Marla PS - I have only recently been to a pain clinic. My visit was very successful but my next appt is not until jul. I will keep posting updates.
