Bev and all - I just wanted to tell you what, my surgeon and pcp said, was causing the pain from the adhesions. They said: "Adhesions DO NOT have nerve fibers to transmit a pain signal; but they DO CAUSE PAIN when they interfere with the normal function of the organ, which they are attached to.

In other words: if there are adhesions attached to the colon, they will interfere with normal colonic movement which causes the pain to originate from the colon...not the adhesions itself. Same with adhesions attached to the uterus/ovaries. Women will have pain with ovulation because the adhesions are interfering with the ovary's ability to release the egg, etc. This also makes sense because of all of the pain that is involved with bowel movements and the menstral cycle. Everyone take care - I truly believe that one day we will eventually overcome this debilitating condition.
