Helen, I am not sure what you mean by urge incontinence so I hope this is of help to your lady. I had an operation in 95 to separate my ovary, bowels, bladder, appendix, etc. The doc told me that my bladder wall was very thin and was about to burst so they had to fold it over and stitch it. For the next year I had a lot of leaking, even if I coughed I would leak. Then I had a short time maybe 6 months, when I felt alright. Then it came back again, whenever I had something to drink I would have to empty my bladder straight away. The doc advised me to hold it in as long as I could. He said it would make my bladder stronger, but I find it so painful when my bladder is full, that I just can't hold it in. I suspect the adhesions have made my bladder weak again. I hope this is of some help.

Good luck to those contemplating surgery soon. Love Kath
