dear jenny. I totally understand your predicament for many years gps and consultants told me my problems were related to IBS, basically I think they label this to anyone that are so called difficult cases. after all that I have studied it is said that within two years upto 48% of patients end up presenting with more adhesions. I have found a company Called SEPRAFILM BIOCHEMICALS IN SUFFOLK ENGLAND who will send you details of there studies.I have also undergone a barium enema but unfortunately I found that there were no conclisive tests that revealed adhesions of the bowel/abdomen. I myself have undergone 17 ops since 1995 and I feel that my adhesions are worst then ever. I had them removed in 98 but unfortunately the pain is back with avengance. I feel that I will be back in my wheelchair if something is not done soon I can not carry on losing 1 stone a month, but there doesn't seem anyone that can helpme. This condition is not recognized as a serious condition (adhesions) . I know this might sound strange but it has helped me to find some one who knows what I am going through and the destruction it causes to a family.I felt that no-one understood what it is like living on morphine and being confined to bed for upto 22hours a day. Society are sympathetic if the illness is visible otherwise they dont or cant understand. Best regards Jackie B. Surrey. England
