Thanks to all of you for the encouraging words. They are very helpful
and comforting to me. I thought maybe since I live in Houston (one of
the medical capitals of the world) that maybe there would be an Adhesion
Specialist here. I will do some checking and let everyone know what I
find out. I really am trying not to let this thing get me. My doctor
had told me when he did my hysterectomy that he couldn't guarantee that
the adhesions would not come back, especially since they grew back in
such massive amounts within a 4 month period. He said it was the worse
case of adhesions he had seen in his 10 years of practice. So I guess
he kind of expected it. I didn't! It is good to know that endometriosis
can be in your abdomen after a hysterectomy. Not that it's good, but I
needed to know that. I guess Monday I need to call and make that
appointment and see if they can give me pain meds until at least I can
see him. They are ususally pretty good about trying to work me in if I
say I am in pain. I know all about heating pads. I had two that almost
caught fire on me. The first time I went to turn it on and saw that the
wires were burned all the way through. It had happened earlier when I
was using it and I hadn't paid much attention to it when I turned it of.
The second time I woke up smelling something like burning plastic. I
picked up the control switch and sparks started flying everywhere. I
screamed at my husband to wake up and he unplugged it. And once I was
using one in my water bed. I had a box of Kleenex stuffed down the side
and went to get one and it was damp. I didn't realize my bed had a leak
and I was sitting in 2-3 inches of water. I guess I had an angel
looking out for me. So I try and be real careful with them, but at the
same time can't sleep without one. Anyway, enough of my babbling. Thank
you all so much for you help.
